ARRI 14mm LDS Ultra Prime Lens retain its excellent image quality even at close focus across the whole Super 35 frame.

Ultra Prime lenses were the first to be kitted out with ARRI’s revolutionary Lens Data System (LDS).

The LDS Ultra Prime series consists of Ultra Prime optical elements transplanted into specially designed housings that allow each lens to communicate with the camera electronically thanks to integrated encoders and electronic contacts, easing tasks on set and providing valuable metadata for postproduction.

All lenses in this set have a rigid, very robust housing. The overall length is constant over the entire focusing range. The completely new focus drive mechanics are particularly sensitive and free of backlash.

(3) Magnification ratio is the relationship of the size of an object on the film/sensor plane (first number) to the size of that object in real life (second number) at the close focus setting

(6) The distance from the entrance pupil to the film/sensor plane. Positive numbers indicated an entrance pupil in front, negative numbers indicated an ent rance pupil behind the film/sensor plane. The entrance pupil (often mistakenly called “nodal point”) is the center of perspective; moving the camera/lens system around the center of the entrance pupil prevents parallax errors. While largerly irrelevant for live action, this measurement is important for special effects work.
