Avid ISIS 7500
is highly-scalable storage system based on a parallel file system that meets the latency constraints of media applications found in the most demanding post production and broadcast environments. With tested and proven ability to scale up to 330 real-time 50Mb/sec clients. ISIS 7500 easily scales as your workflow or facility grows, and media assets now become easily accessible to all users across the enterprise.
Avid ISIS 7500 delivers economic scalability and blazing performance based on logically segmenting system functions. Media storage is distributed across Avid ISIS 7500 Storage Blades (ISBs) and Avid ISIS 7500 Engines (chassis) while metadata is stored on redundant System Directors.
AS3000 uses industry standard components to deliver high capacity, high performance collaborative media solutions.
A single AS3000 ISIS 7500 Engine chassis provides server or client functionality depending on the Avid software application. Each AS3000 is comprised of two mirrored system drives, integrated RAID controller, four 10/100/1000 Mbps (hereafter referred to as 1 Gb) Ethernet ports, two PCI Express x8 slots, plus redundant power and fans.
The Avid AS3000 is a standalone system that runs the application software for a number of Avid systems. It is a single or dual-processor, rack-mount, Windows® computer that contains two 1 TB drives for storing data. See your Avid product documentation for specifics on installing Avid application software and configuring the AS3000.
The System Director provides a location to coordinate file access modes (read/write), file locking, range locking, performance data collection, logging, file lookup, and directory change tracking for client systems.
The System Director provides:
- Identity of all storage elements connected to the system
- Information about the ISS and IXS modules in the configuration.
- List of workspaces including names and unique ID numbers
- List of users and groups within the system
- Identity of all System Directors in the system (if more than one)
